BC Jean? Who? Only the genius behind Beyonce’s mega hit If I Were A Boy. But she won’t be writing anymore songs for the likes of her at the moment as it is now her time to shine. The american singer/songwriter is some one you may or may not have heard of, regardless, you should start to get familiar with her after this latest effort.
BC Jean has worked with some big time producers Max Martin for example, and released her debut single Just A Boy which was a decent, catchy pop song, but didn’t seem to really go anywhere in the charts. Now she is back. But, with a very different style. Her latest single entitled I’ll Survive You is a favourite of mine and I much prefer the more vulnerable side of BC Jean. Think of this one as a mainstream emotional pop/rock ballad. It seems like a Kelly Clarkson reject, but it is still quite an enjoyable listen. On her first single, you couldn’t tell. In actual fact, she has one hell of a powerful voice.
Now, a music video has been released and can only do more favours for this track. The clip is quite simple and is less on the plot and more on the image. The less is more is very evident here. BC Jean isn’t going to stop there though. She has a debut album coming out later this year, so I hope top hear more ballads from the pop rocker. Check it out:
